Our History
The Trojan League Associates of San Diego County functions under the endorsement of the Association of Trojan Leagues. The Association has a twofold purpose: to maintain the standards of existing Trojan Leagues and to provide the frame-work in the interests of the University of Southern California. Organized through the joint efforts of the Trojan Leagues of Los Angeles (founded 1958) and Orange County (founded 1961), the Association was chartered by the Board of Governors of the General Alumni Association in 1967. Since that time the Association founded the Trojan League of San Diego County in 1969, the Trojan League of San Fernando Valley in 1972, the Trojan League of South Bay in 1974, the Trojan League Associates of the Foothills in 1985, the Trojan League Associates of the Desert in 1987, the Trojan League Associates of Greater Chicago in 1989, and the Trojan League of Fresno in 1996. Members of each Trojan League are also members of the Association, elect representatives to its Board of Directors, and are invited to the Annual Meeting. While the Association offers guidelines for operations, the individual Trojan League carries out its own program and reflects the community of which it is a part.
